After many hours watching all those obedient dogs on Crufts, we are really determined to knuckle down to training George. To be honest, he really is a great dog, with a friendly good-natured character, but now I am halfway through my pregnancy with our first child, we felt it really is time to iron out the few slightly undesirable habits of his. On my part I truly believe that most of George's naughty behaviour comes from him either a: just having one of those days b: testing the boundaries c: him thinking its just a big game. I also believe he is pretty smart dog. We do think that increasing the training will help keep him occupied, stop him getting bored and depressed when he goes to the field and none of his mates are there to run around with.

The only thing is George has been on a diet since the beginning of the year, but the only thing we can get him interested in re treats is food based. So I guess its either an overweight well trained dog or mad as a hatter skinny dog!!
Update so far after a week of George learning the down position really well, he seems to have (or decided to) completely forget what it is alltogether!! I guess thats terriers for you!
We will keep you posted - our dream is for him not to attack the door when the post comes through the letterbox!
